The book documents the exhibition of the same name, and it is the first publication by the once imaginary imprint that continues to chronicle the exhibitions at SE8 gallery and elsewhere. In this multi-platform exhibition held over several months with the participation of scores of artists and curators, the display strategies appear as if borrowed from the putative head office of a production company: faint simulations of pinboards, boardroom tables, bookshelves, vitrines, video address systems; in short, places of latent instruction, both pragmatic and codified, inherently empty and already overloaded with significance. It is a posthumous book, made with the benefit of hindsight. Such vision suggests clarity: texts are written, images displayed, videos reviewed, but already the process of oblivion has begun, heralded by a melding of things, stories and places. Perhaps it might be better to think of it as a final handover, drawing the line between one activity and the next, mirror- ing the spirit of the exhibition. As one undertaking comes to an end, another begins.
