The book chronicles the collaborative project Fluid Mountain by Marit Følstad and Ole Jørgen Ness from its inception in a quarry inside the Arctic circle to its installation in London. The text is divided into four separate chapters Local, Spatial, Material and Temporal, and sets out to discuss the works in the exhibition. However, this process is an invitation to examine the wider confines in which their practices are situated by exploring the writings of art theorists, philosophers, physicists and novelists. The text postpones providing a definitive or final reading as it circulates and meanders around the works, often repeatedly, arriving and departing with different questions and answers.
